Bailey Steel Bridge Panel

The Bailey Steel Bridge Panel is usually welded by upper and lower chords, vertical components and diagonal components. At the top of the upper and lower chords, there are male and female connections, usually equipped with pin holes for connecting brackets. Each chord is composed of two No. 10 channel steels connected back-to-back. The lower chord usually has several steel plates with round holes welded on them. The bolt holes are located inside the upper and lower chords and are used to connect the reinforcing chords and the double-layer truss. There are four bolt holes inside the upper chord, which are used to connect the support frame. The two holes in the middle are used to connect double or more rows of trusses within the same cross-section, and the two holes at both ends are used for connecting the cross-sections. When multiple rows of Bailey bridge sections are used as beams or columns, support frames are employed to reinforce the joints between the upper and lower sections. During the construction process, the tightness of the bolts in each section of the Bailey Bridge, the corrosion condition of the components, and the tightness of the pins should be inspected weekly, and adjustments should be made as needed.

After the Bailey Steel Bridge Panels are expanded and connected, they can be placed horizontally or vertically as beams or columns. According to the different assembly methods, there are two types: frame columns and tower columns. When three or four truss slabs are placed parallel and connected through support frames, the formed column is a frame column. When four truss panels are placed at 90 degrees to each other and connected through corner braces and support frames, the resulting column is a tower column.
